Biography
Sergi Montava Jordà is a Full Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Materials Engineering (Polytechnic University of Valencia, Spain).
He is an engineer with over 18 years of experience in industrial machinery design and process automation, developed since 2004 at a leading company in the machine tool sector.
Since 2014, he has taught courses related to machinery and automation in the Mechanical and Electrical Engineering and Industrial Robotics degrees. Passionate about teaching innovation, he applies active methodologies such as flipped classrooms, gamification, and, especially, Project-Based Learning, always oriented toward solving real challenges in the industrial environment.
In parallel, he has a solid research career focused on plastics recycling and the formulation of bio-based polymer blends. His current research focuses on part failure analysis, tribology, and the development of eco-friendly compounds.
